First your gonna need firefox. You can download it here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ from the homepage. Ok now you can begin to make your internet surfing days secure.
The first thing I suggest you do is get Adblock Plus, I haven’t seen a single banner or any crap like that since I installed it so I’m pretty happy with it. Get it here https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1865/
Next get Keyscrambler Personal
Quote:
KeyScrambler defeats keyloggers by encrypting your keystrokes at the keyboard driver level, deep within the operating system. When the encrypted keystrokes reach your browser, KeyScrambler then decrypts them so you see exactly the keys you’ve typed. Keyloggers can only record the encrypted keys, which are completely indecipherable.
Now grab WOT. It’s a great little extension that tells you if a web page is trustworthy or not and has 3 different trust ratings, Trustworthy as a business partner, keeper of personal information, and as a safe destination for children(no one really cares about the last one...) You can get this from here https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3456/
Next grab TrackMeNot.
Quote:
Protects against search data profiling by issuing randomized queries to popular search-engines with fake data.
The next two aren’t necessarily security plugins but just things that I’ve found useful.
First thing is the HostIP.info Geolocation Plugin. What it does is when you hover your cursor over a hyperlink it shows who the host is, their IP address, the URL, and the location of the host, what Country, City, and even all the way down to coordinates. You can get it here https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/663/
And the last thing for this egg is Temporary Inbox.
Quote:
This extension generates random disposable email addresses. Use these email addresses for registration in forums, adult sites or whatever.
The email addresses don’t require any registration. This is an easy way to avoid spam, because the spamer will never know your private email address .. only the temporaryinbox.com email address. And there the emails will be deleted after 6 hours.
Avoiding spam is sooo easy!
good for if you want to download something without having to become an actual member of a site and have the spam. heres the link https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2650/
